Closing Down of HostingFuse services

HostingFuse is a budget ColdFusion web hosting service, setup as a reseller, and offered by Fast Hit from US-based servers since 2004.

We are sad to inform current clients that due to restructuring at Fast Hit we are no longer able to provide services from US-based servers. As a result Fast Hit is in the process of notifying HostingFuse clients that HostingFuse services are no longer available for new signups and all current services will be closed down on 28 September 2008. All HostingFuse clients will receive a letter explaining details and available options.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this event.

Attention all shared hosting clients.

This is to notify that Urchin web stats service will be shut down at the end of this month.

Urchin was purchased by Google a few years ago and renamed to â€œGoogle Analyticsâ€. As a result, updates for Urchin software as such are not available and the time has come when we are no longer able to offer it as an add-on service with our shared hosting accounts. We would recommend signing up with Google Analytics http://www.google.com/analytics/ for a better and more flexible web site reporting tool. We apologise for any inconvenience and please let us know if you have any questions.

We have upgraded our Business and Power plans - increasing the traffic allocation to 15GB (Business plans) and 30GB (Power plans).

+ Datacentre power tests
===================================================

On 8th August (Wednesday) our datacentre in QV1/Perth will be running its annual generator testing.
From approximately 0630 through to 1605 the building will operate from generator power, power will be maintained in the datacentre by the UPS's for the 30 seconds or so between mains being removed and generator power being available. Fast Hit staff will be in the datacentre during that time to monitor the power to our servers.

Coldfusion 8 Plans Open, CF8 Dev Server Offline

Well, it's here!

Adobe officially released Coldfusion 8 today, and we've been busying ourselves getting those CF8 plans up for new accounts. You will find them alongside our other plan information pages.

Coldfusion dev servers (Scorpio PR beta / CF8 public beta) have been temporarily taken offline.

Subsystem Update (WebShell 4.3.7/win.*)

The Webshell subsystem - a web based interface to an account's user directory - has been upgraded to the latest stable version (4.3.7) on all shared Windows servers. Changes are minor, with some feature improvements and security extensions being the primary upgrades.Â As usual any unexpected behaviours should be reported to FastHit Support.

New Support / Helpdesk System

Fast Hit is proud to annouce the launch of a new Support / Helpdesk system which replaces the old Trouble Ticket system that was used over the last 2.5years.

The new system will provide each user with a flexible interface to submit support requests, monitor progress, search knowledgebase articles, make comments and more.
In the coming weeks the system will be integrated into our Control Panel allowing uses to login automatically directly from the Control Panel.
